DMCA

Every photo, room idea, and how-to guide on HomeDecorGen takes real time to put together. We know how it feels when someone lifts your work and posts it as their own, so we take copyright seriously on both sides. If you believe something on this site uses your work without permission, this page explains exactly how to reach us and what happens after you do.

HomeDecorGen follows the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. ยง 512. We respond to every valid notice we receive and act on it quickly.

What to Include in Your Notice

A notice that’s missing details slows everything down. Please include all six of the items below so we can act on the first read.

1

Your signature. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf. Typing your full legal name works as an electronic signature.

2

The original work. Tell us what was copied. A link to where your original lives is the fastest way to show us.

3

The exact location on our site. The full URL of each page, plus which image or passage you mean. “Your kitchen post” isn’t enough when we have dozens of them.

4

Your contact details. Full name, mailing address, phone number, and email address.

5

A good faith statement. A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.

6

An accuracy statement. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or are authorized to act for the owner.

Where to Send It

Email is the quickest route. Put “DMCA Notice” in the subject line so it lands with the right person and doesn’t get buried with general messages.

Email: contact@homedecorgen.com

Subject line: DMCA Notice

Website: https://homedecorgen.com

What Happens After We Hear From You

No auto-replies and no runaround. A real person reads your notice, checks it against the page you flagged, and takes action. Here’s the order things usually go in.

  1. We confirm we received your notice, usually within a few business days.
  2. We review the flagged material and compare it with your original.
  3. If the notice is complete and valid, we remove or disable access to the content.
  4. We let the person who posted it know, where that applies.
  5. If something in your notice is missing or unclear, we’ll write back and tell you exactly what we need.

Filing a Counter Notice

Mistakes happen. If content you provided was removed and you believe that was wrong, you can send a counter notice to the same email address. It needs to include the following.

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • A description of the material that was removed and the URL where it appeared before removal.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, and phone number.
  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address, or if you live outside the United States, any judicial district where HomeDecorGen may be found.
  • A statement that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or their agent.

Once we receive a valid counter notice, we forward a copy to the original complainant. If they don’t tell us they’ve filed a court action within 10 to 14 business days, we may restore the material.

Please Don’t File False Claims

Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, can be held liable for damages and legal costs. If you’re not sure whether something actually infringes your rights, it’s worth talking to a lawyer before you send a notice.

Repeat Infringers

If a contributor or user is the subject of repeated valid complaints, we’ll remove their access to the site where appropriate. We’d rather keep this a place where original work is respected.

Found Our Content Somewhere Else?

It goes the other way too. If you spot a HomeDecorGen article or image copied onto another site without credit, we’d honestly appreciate a heads up. Just send the link to contact@homedecorgen.com and we’ll take it from there.
